My high school alma mater is a powerhouse in girl's athletics. Has been for as long as I can remember. But not the guys...I'm not sure the guys have ever won a state championship in any team sport.

I was thinking of this as I was reading about the girls winning another state title in softball. That makes two in a row. And this team has one senior. One. The team also has three 8th graders on the team. So chances for another trophy next year are good.

When you walk by the trophy case in the gym, you can see state championship after state championship trophy stretching back over 50 years. All girls, no boys.

Bud, back in my day I can authoritatively state, without equivocation, that my research on an admittedly small sample, showed by moonlight that all female parts were present, arranged correctly and in perfect working order.
