      It's why Gates works full time at it.

      I'm sure he knows Bill McCaskill and the Effective Altruism guys. I wonder why he doesn't like that. One problem might be that it points almost exclusively to fighting infectious disease in Africa, and he's probably interested in other things.

        It is a good thought exercise. I have thought about how I would handle giving away lots of money and it would be a lot of work.

        I was reading an article about Jeff Bezo wife, who has been doing that. I believe that her philosophy is kind of just random donations directly to people/organizations, etc. Hard to do.
