No, you write something. Should I feel the need, I’ll grudgingly comment at a time of my own choosing. In the meantime I’ll return to being a thoroughly disdainful cynic sceptic and misanthrope.

Fox News has sent a cease-and-desist letter to Tucker Carlson, alleging that the conservative network’s former star anchor breached his contract by launching a new show on Twitter, according to a source familiar with the matter.

Carlson, a firebrand right-wing media personality known for spreading conspiracy theories, parted ways with Fox News in late April, days after the network agreed to pay almost $800 million to Dominion Voting Systems to avert a high-stakes defamation trial.

“Fox News continues to ignore the interests of its viewers, not to mention its shareholder obligations,” Harmeet Dhillon, one of Carlson’s lawyers, said in a statement. “Doubling down on the most catastrophic programming decision in the history of the cable news industry, Fox is now demanding that Tucker Carlson be silent until after the 2024 election.
                    ...
In a separate letter to Carlson’s lawyers last week that did not expressly demand he stop posting videos on Twitter, Fox News general counsel Bernard Gugar said the former prime-time host was “in breach” of his contract with the network. The contract, signed in November 2019 and amended in February 2021, limits his ability to appear on other media outlets.

In a statement, Bryan Freedman — another attorney for Carlson — insisted that any legal action by Fox News would infringe on the television personality's First Amendment rights.

If the first statement above is true, then it seems that there may be some restriction on Mr. Carlson going on Twitter.

I agree. I don't think anyone, in today's era, would not consider Twitter to be a "media outlet."

The First Amendment applies to government interference with free speech. A private enterprise, such as Twitter or Fox can do whatever it wishes with people on their platforms. I am always skeptical of people who invoke the First Amendment to defend what might be a breach of contract.

We've spent $77B out of an allocated $112B. That's as much or more than the rest of the world, combined.

Not just your money, Beauregard. Others are contributing what they can as well.

As Baron Ismay, the first Sect’y General of NATO pointed out; the founding principle of NATO is to keep Germany down, The USA in and, the USSR out. That principle still applies.

We've spent $77B out of an allocated $112B. That's as much or more than the rest of the world, combined.

                                      I stand by my statement.

No one is suggesting that Pax Americana has ever been cheap. And I stand by my statement that others in the Alliance are doing what they can at this point. I fully expect that collectively the Alliance will have to do more, much more, in the not too distant future.

                                      Elbows up!

Mr. Carlson must be getting desperate. Kind of like the movie star who is once famous, loses fame, and then starts doing stupid things to try and stay in the spotlight.

Didn't see it, but read that he spent 2.5 hours interviewing Andrew Tate, who is a most disgusting man.

Mr. Tate is a guy who has said in a text:

                                        "I love raping you."

There were also a voice message from Tate, where he can be heard taunting her with, "The more you didn't like it, the more I enjoyed it. I fucking loved how much you hated it."

The anonymous woman describes Tate "strangling me" while "screaming at me, 'Take the fucking trousers off, bitch.'"

Two other women who filed rape complaints with the U.K.'s Crown Protection Services have also stepped forward after Tate was arrested in Romania earlier this year on charges of rape, human trafficking and setting up a criminal gang. He's been accused of using a standard pimping technique: luring women into what they think is a romantic relationship and then forcing them into sex work.

"He choked me so hard that my blood vessels had literally just burst," another alleged victim told Vice.

"I remember the sheer panic. He kept saying, 'I own you.' That's when he strangled me so hard that I lost consciousness," another woman told Glamour UK.

Of course, none of this was discussed in the interview (from what I have been told)

                                          😲

I can't imagine watching any interview that's 2.5 hours long. Let alone this a-hole (Tate, that is).

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.
