Had a quick trip to Tokyo, and flew ANA, and was looking at what to watch and show this show listed. I had the image of them trying to sell the show.

    Guardians of the Market
"Tsutomu Koshobu, a genius, and a character who is always based around the idea of logic, and Kaede Shirokuma, an honest and emotionally driven former detective are the main characters. As members of the Fair Trade Commission’s sixth examination division (aka. ‘Dairoku’), they crack down on violations of the Anti-Monopoly Law and keep a watchful eye on economic activities to protect a free and fair competition in the market."

Seems like a boring show and I kind of laughed reading the description. But I am sure that they spice it up to make it good to watch. (I probably should have watched a show, but did not). Maybe @jon-nyc would like it!! 555

My observation of Japanese TV serials suggests that:

      • Japanese TV protagonists tend to be driven by some employment based mission
      • Japanese TV protagonists tend to draw their identities from their employments

I think you are right. In north Asia, a lot of identify comes from your work and work colleagues.

I just thought the show description was really funny.

"Lets watch 60 minutes of someone looking at a spreadsheet! See how he notices that Company A charges 25 yen less than market value to increase product share!!!! Stay tuned!!!!"
