Interesting. I am guessing that if we looked at homicide per population, it would match up pretty well with your chart.

My guess: Violent predators (almost always male) killing people is far less in those countries so the murder rate is much lower and consists of highly personal things like killing your sibling or spouse for money, etc, and that’s more egalitarian.
