Miriam Batsashvili - piano technique on Tik Tok
-
Miriam Batsashvili has a collection of interesting, short Tik Tok videos on technique - and some demonstrations of "how to" on various pieces including Ondine, Chopin's 1st Ballade, Appassionata Sonata, etc. What's amusing to me is she often demonstrates a mediocre version and then a how to make it better. Listening to the Doofus versions, I'd feel a measure of success to even play it as "badly" as she is playing it.
If Batsashvili were to be given the choice of getting me to play the Chopin Scherzo decently or teach a cow to sing; after a couple of hours with me, I'm reasonably sure she'd come out and ask, "is the cow musical?"

I must admit you activated my narcissism. This is me vs Yuja Wang. She probably practiced the piece twice before performing this. It's a late Brahms. I spent a year. It was after he mastered composing, and before I mastered playing. Always fully realizing that the music occurs after you can play it technically.

Horace - gorgeous playing! Loved your performance. I like that intermezzo though I've not
decimatedplayed it just yet. I hope you eventually get a decent grand to play upon. Have you tried playing lately with your injured finger?@kluurs said in Miriam Batsashvili - piano technique on Tik Tok:

My finger seems fine. I am lately playing.
