Yep. Somebody in the company said that we can make more money on X car than Y car. Lets make more X car, even thought people want Y car.
Car executives have made that mistake in the past also.

Makes perfect sense. EVs are great for around town, but not for hauling or towing or mostly long distance. Not yet. They'll get there, but not on my nickel.

Give it ten years and they'll be a lot better bet, I suspect. But I'd like to see smaller, much more numerous power generation stations. There's a lot of national vulnerability in having all transportation dependent on our currently fragile and interconnected grid.

A couple of things...
- After Elon's recent visit to Capitol Hill, he said he would be opening up some of his charging stations to other vehicles. He smells
. - At the dawn of the motoring age, electric cars were very popular in NYC. They were marketed as a
" Lady's Automobile". Limited range, but no clatter, no fumes, adequate speed. They were pretty popular.
Fast forward to today...A small EV for city driving and close commute from the suburbs could make sense, if the price is right. Apparently, $20k for the Bolt (after government credits) hit the sweet spot. Most families have two cars. I suspect the other family car is larger and burns gas.
And that's where EV's could be economically viable.
