And now I read Target is closing some stores.

The Resident may have been mistaken about the economy ...

Gonna get a hell of a lot worse in the next 18 months I think. (Be cool if I was wrong, though.)

      Please love yourself.

I don't think you're wrong. I'm just waiting for Ax to chime in with the next Rosey Scenario from The Resident.

I think when tech lays off enough people, maybe it will get his attention....

Is the next rosey scenario the one where he eliminates diesel?

And the trucks all stop. And no food or manufactured goods get delivered.

Or is it the one where he shuts down the entire oil industry. Which will cause everyone to buy an electric car. Whether the the cars or electric supply exist or not?

@Copper Sounds like it’s about time you change the channel.

The retail landscape has changed dramatically, and I think we are seeing the effects of Covid accelerating that. I’d have to see if consumer spending was down, or just brick and mortar while online continues to rise.

Consumer spending hasn't fallen much, because people are busy maxxing out their credit cards.

Give it a few more months...

Even Walmart is trimming some low performing locations. But as a general rule, Walmart does pretty well in a recession.

Overstock buys their intellectual property, renames its website and mobile app “Bed, Bath, and Beyond”.
