Social contagion, visualized

There was a thread that I may have linked to here about social contagion.
I forwarded it to D2 (the psychology doctor).
Her comments:
I read through some of her arguments, and there are some valid points there. We're seeing an uptick in a lot of requests for evaluations for borderline, ADHD, autism, etc. thanks to TikTok and social media. But this trend is not new. The term she uses, "social contagion," is conceptually similar to other social psychological factors that are well-researched. However, given her post history, she has a pretty strong bias against the trans community and is outspoken about her political agenda. She also does not understand gender dysphoria and equates it with transgenderism, which the DSM is explicit about; they're not the same. I take it with a grain of salt until I see the peer-reviewed research supporting her claims.
