I worked a side hustle as an adjunct for ten years. In many departments you could can every other one and never miss a beat.
I think we need to change the tax code back to what it used to be, regarding housing. I think preachers and professors should not be taxed on housing. I also think that any professor's children and his spouse, should receive free tuition and fees at the university where he teaches.
I also think we need to take a looong look at at exactly how industrial, government and university research is linked.
And I think we need to take a very hard look at the cost of public university tutition, how basic courses are delivered and how testing is done. I think a canned course is fine for most 200 level courses and lower, if access is granted for student questions and testing is monitored.
