Haven't the LCS's been problematic since forever?

The modular system never worked right and the propulsion systems have been a nightmare, constantly breaking down.

I don't understand why we don't configure the ships for a single mission, re-do the power plant/drive system to a conventional lay-out and get thirty years out of the hulls.
