Positive thoughts, Jon. Like I said, I can't believe it can sustain itself. As more of the non-woke grok what is happening, the ideology will begin tailing back. I don't think you can make a real strong argument for its sustaining itself indefinitely.
Unless it grows the numbers.

Remember the good old days, when the joke was that Jack Kennedy couldn't be a member of the Democratic Party today?
We've reached a point, where Joe Biden can barely be a member of that party.

Well, there was a time when the Democratic Party accepted Donald Trump as a member, and there was a time when neither the Republican Party nor the Democratic Party would have nominated Trump for the Oval Office.

@Axtremus: Yeah, thanks, Hillary.
The pattern of how the people influence trends politically shifts around like a lava lamp. Something happens and some portion of the population reacts, and things change, and then change back again when something else happens.
I'm speculating that this will have a more noticeable effect post-Trump. I don't know how to say this, I don't know enough, bring me a demographer, somebody, but if Biden gets in, there will be an effect of, "thank God we fixed that mistake," and the lava will flow more forcefully, at least for awhile -- more so than ever before possibly. That's why it is hard to predict what will happen. We never had a Trump, and so we will never have had a Trump after-effect.
Then it will be interesting to see how the lava flows in light of that adjustment.

Yeah but not always. Sometimes a different thing happens and then other people react in a different way and the shift is different than what it would have been if the reaction changed the shift and then people reacted to the shifting changes.

There was a time when the democrat party was a pro-american party. What stands in its place now rejects every single thing the democrat party stood for 50 years ago. It is now the party of village idiots.

I wonder if a new center-left or just center-center party could be successful. Recently, it seems like the only alternatives to the big two have been no-hopers like the libertarians and greens.

Good point. It seems like the 20% on the edges of each side have a greater influence than their numbers should say.
The middle 60% seems like that is a potential third party. But it seem like there are so many barrier to doing one, that I am not so optimistic.

I thought this was a pretty powerful ad. Yes, of course you can say some words were take out of context, but still effective.
The last part for me I thought was good - "Has your party left you?"
