If this was just a mugging gone wrong, this will just hasten the exodus for the tech companies leaving the area.

I went to San Francisco for the first time last year with work. I wouldn't go back by choice. We were in a really expensive hotel, but if you turned left rather than right you could easily be in for a world of hurt.

I agree.
Thread Drift...In this state, we have done a really crappy job at attracting the jobs of the future. Part of that problem us education and politics. There are places you can't swing a dead cat and not hit three universities. The one that comes to mind first, is ULM, Louisiana Tech and Grambling. ULM has strong education and nursing schools, Tech is a decent engineering school and Grambling is a historically black college. All of these schools are in a 45 mile circle.
Grambling needs to be closed and its functions combined with ULM. Tech needs to combine with LSUS in Shreveport. Instead, each school competes for the same students, watering down everybody.
We need centers of excellence that will draw companies in tech and biotech. For that to hapoen, you need mass - capital, students and tax breaks.

Turns out it was a fight between two people who knew each other. The guy that got stabbed was apparently part of a drug/sex group, and was a FWB of the stabber's sister.
