@Mik said in Manchin regrets his Inflation Reduction Act vote:
"Admits to being naive..."
I saw a similar story a few days ago. My only thought was , "You've been in the Senate for how long, again? And you're surprised at this?"

Same qquestion I asked myself. Sounds more like a distancing himself from his vote to take a run at Joe.

Or Sen. Manchin is making some space for a POTUS run.

Uhm, yeah. That’s what Mik said.
I kind of disagree. Or… If he is prepping a run, it will be as a Republican. Manchin can not win a Democratic primary. He would stand as much of a chance as Cheney running for the Republican nomination… None. He can command maybe 10% of the Dem support… He would likely have a better chance at converting and running for the Republican seat. Even then he has a low chance.
His best course of action? Not run for re-election, but run for the Governorship of WV.

THere's talk of that, isn't there?
I would assume the GOP would win his (now vacant) seat, right?

They’re going to win the spot even if he ran for reelection. Manchin is the second most popular politician in the state. Unfortunately for him, the most popular is Jim Justice, the current governor who is term limited and is supposedly planning a run for Manchin’s seat. That’s why there’s talk of Manchin running for Governor.
