"Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement."
This is a procedure that was just coming into the fore when I was retiring (we didn't do any at our place). I don't know much about it other than, when it works, it's a far sight better than having your chest sawed open, your blood drained into a machine, your body chilled to 80 degrees, and given massive doses of blood thinners.
I always "enjoyed" aortic valve replacements, because the heart is usually healthy, and the only thing making it "sick" the bad valve. Replace the valve, and the heart becomes happy.
