He has a lot in common with Greta. Right person at the right time to serve as a mouthpiece for ideas that the media loves to broadcast. Though I suspect Greta is much smarter and more interesting than Kaepernick, who must be the all time useful idiot. Well, not such an idiot since he appears to be enjoying himself and all the adulation. Whatever works.
