On its way to a cult favorite. I might take a peek.

It was on Prime for awhile. I watched it at least twice, maybe three times.

Storyline? Meh. Acting? So-so. Visuals? Well you can tell where the money went.

If you like SF, give it a try. Just park your mind at the door and let your eyes enjoy.

I watched it theater when it was released.
        I enjoyed it.
The visuals certainly deserve the big screen.
Pretty creative imagination of the various worlds.

I’ll give it a shot. The Avatar plot was weak to say the least, but the world that was created was stunning. Will see Way of Water this week.

Meh. I couldn’t get past the casting.

Now if you want talk about a movie that was panned by critics AND box office but was actually a surprisingly good movie, watch Speed Racer.

My husband and I saw it when it was first released. It was just "okay" for me, but my husband loved it. First he's a Luc Besson fan; and second, he's read the comics and thought the 2 leads were perfect.

It is visually pretty. Lots of costumes to be had for the conventions. I can see how it is a cult favorite.

OK, I'm intrigued enough. I'll seek it out.

From IMDB: "There are two hundred different alien species in this movie. Writer, producer, and director Luc Besson wrote a six hundred-page book describing in detail all the species. The actors had to read that book prior to filming so they could adjust their performances, depending upon the species with whom they were interacting."

I didn't know that this was the same guy that did The Fifth Element. I enjoyed that movie....

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.
