I think the GOP is looking at blanket liability relief for corporations in the next relief bill. On Covid, I mean.

They’ll end up, after a lot of drama, with the same formula they use every time they have a trifecta: take away health care and food assistance from low income families and use the money to fund tax cuts for their donors.

I assume there are two sides to the story.

They either work, or you don't eat.

And either grocery stores make a profit, or you don't eat. Currently, the average profit margin in a grocery store is 1-2%.

I had two kids that helped put themselves through college working grocery stores. They were glad to get the jobs.

So while I have sympathy for the current situation, do try to be fair to all parties involved.

Everyone in this country has been told since early March to stay home if you are sick. I’m not sure I see negligence here.

I’m not in favor of an unconditional liability waiver but it’s not reasonable for every still working individual to be able to sue his employer if he gets the disease.

I’d be for outlining some requirements of employers that, if met, absolve them from liability.

They’ll end up, after a lot of drama, with the same formula they use every time they have a trifecta: take away health care and food assistance from low income families and use the money to fund tax cuts for their donors.
