Stephen Hough is in town to perform with the NSO. They asked if we could send over a concert grand as Hough likes to choose from 3 possible pianos and they only have 2 Steinway Ds on site… So we send over a Yamaha CFX and our tech to tune pep the instrument and guess which one Sir Hough selected?

The house Technician on site works for Steinway. I heard he wasn’t too happy…

      The CFX rocks.

      I love my CF6.

I played one that cost 80k at a piano store a month ago. It was the best piano they had.

        Education is extremely important.

Only 80K? A CFX? Was it used?

Maybe it wasn’t a cfx. Maybe cfx is concert size. This was a 7 footer. It also had a disclavier system.

Must have been a DC6X. Amazing that they had one in stock.

So I guess he’s not a Steinway artist?

Not new and not surprising. Hough has recorded piano works using Yamaha pianos and owns a Yamaha piano. None of this takes away @LuFins-Dad and his shop's win, of course.
