    It’s been often remarked here by several of us how much the MAGA right (and worse) have strayed from Reaganism.

    This is an extreme example but worth sharing.

        It’s been often remarked here by several of us how much the MAGA right (and worse) have strayed from Reaganism.

        I agree. In my reading of history, a lot of current Republics try to hold President Reagan on a pedestal. But that just shows that they really dont know what he stood for.

          The Republicans have not have a winning and likable POTUS since Reagan. Bush I lost reelection, not winning. Bush II won reelection but ended his presidency with a financial crisis and a mess in Iraq. Trump lost the reelection and ended his term with bungled handling of the pandemic, just generally not likable beyond maybe the 36% of certain Republican faction. The Bushes don't like Trump, Trump doesn't like the Bushes, and they made this known publicly.

          The Republicans simply do not have any presentable ex-President after Reagan, they are stuck with Reagan.
