D4 is thinking about taking a trip up to Toronto as a summer vacation. She'd be going with SIL and a (almost) 5 year old and a 1 year old. They are planning on stopping for an overnight on the way up somewhere in Michigan, probably.

So, what recommendations can I give regarding where to stay, what to do, and other things that are kid-friendly?

I haven't been there since 1973, so I'm WAY out of my depth here.

    Thanks!

Toronto was my first trip after 9-11. That's when immigration was being extra vigilant and they discovered the Cuba stamp in my passport and detained me for a bit.

That was my last trip there - a brief meeting with the Toronto Stock Exchange. So I'm no help.

I've been to Montreal recently. But not Toronto.

        @George-K

        Sorry can’t help.

Only been to Toronto once and that was on business for three days. Saw the conference centre, my hotel and the Hockey Hall of Fame which happened to be a two minute walk from the lobby.

Oh…and the domestic flights terminal at the airport.

        Elbows up!

About half way between Chicago and Toronto

          Ford museum

          https://www.thehenryford.org/visit/henry-ford-museum/

Actually, probably not for a 5 and 1 year old.

Maybe Greenfield Village - same location

Put the question to Dolmansaxlil on FB. Remember she teaches little ones.

              I did. Also to Riley.

We went a few times when we there 20 years, ago, but it's been so long. The obvious CN Tower and Niagara Falls are what spring to mind, and The Harbourfront was a nice stroll by the water. The thing I really remember about Toronto is that it was always either far too cold or far too hot, however if she grew up in Chicago that might not be such an issue 🙂

Niagara-on-the-Lake is a nice little touristy town. Both it and Niagara Falls are about a 90 minute drive as you have to drive around the lake.

                I was only joking
