This might well have been staged, but the discussion is interesting. It seems that Ontario police can come to your home within TWO HOURS of you being reported as suspected driving drunk.

    Lots of questions:

    1. Can you PROVE that I was driving?
    2. I had two drinks after I got home from work
    3. Consent to come on your property does NOT equal consent to gather evidence (the breathalyzer). Come back with a warrant for that.

      It's Canada.

      Civil suggestions, not civil rights.

@Jolly one of the things I follow on Twitter is a Canadian firearms attorney. He's the guy that had that "fentanyl myths" video I posted a while ago.

I saw this on his feed - I guess he's going to do a stream about it in the next few days. Should be interesting.

You’re probably right. The way we see it up here civil rights are way overrated. People need to know their place and kept in their place.

And that’s why I won’t be moving to Canada.

That viewpoint sounds positively classist and/or racist.

Now, the US does focus too much on rights and not enough on responsibilities.

@LuFins-Dad , in your view, which country strike the most correct balance between rights and responsibilities?

I am just reinforcing the view that was posted and linked to here a year ago about this country:

                  https://townhall.com/columnists/derekhunter/2022/02/20/canada-shows-why-its-called-american-exceptionalism-n2603533

In any case, there’s not enough classism nowadays. Elite classism is what makes the world go round in a good way. The rabble needs to be kept in its place. Just look at the mob rule in places like Portland. An outrage!

I’ll take peace, order and good government in combination with the Westminster system any day over the platitudes of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness associated with republicanism.

There has to be a balance between rights and responsibilities. I'm afraid we have tilted far too much toward rights here.

I don't necessarily approve of what I'm viewing here, but I suspect like most things in the modern press it is intended to outrage more than inform.
