I see a battle of the AI robocallers vs. robolawyers on the horizon. Not quite what Terminator predicted, but it could get equally nasty.

Speaking of callers, I had quite a nice chat last week with an Indian lady who claimed to be from the Department of Homeland Security. Eventually she gave up and hung up on me without even saying goodbye.

      I was only joking

As a guest on Gutfeld! said last night, the first profession to be replaced by AI would be much of the legal profession.

And why not? Many of the things they charge to do are just standard boilerplate, generated by their secretary. AI can do it much cheaper and probably file it electronically.

Indeed! Why did you even bother answering? I no longer answer the phone if the number is no longer recognized, particularly if it's out of state.

            If it's important, they'll leave a message.

It wasn't anything really. I just asked her if she was really sure that who she worked for, because this sounds an awfully lot like a rather clumsy scam. I'm afraid I may have sounded a little condescending. She assured me that it was legitimate, and very kindly offered to send me a text with a web address I could click on to verify that she was who she said she was. I said 'Oh, no no no...please continue with your wonderful explanation....' which seemed to send her into a bit of a loop.

I only answered because we were expecting a call from a bloke who was coming to install a new gas fire.

              I was only joking
