Hopefully this is the only Independence Day we celebrate under heavy social distancing and travel restrictions. Hopefully by this time next year, we have developed effective vaccines and enough people have been inoculated to render social distancing and travel restrictions unnecessary.

My family is not going anywhere or doing any get-together.

What, and how, are all you all doing this Independence Day?

We stayed home, and I watched the first couple of episodes of "Das Boot" on HULU. We ordered in KFC...

CNN is doing a spectacular job covering celebrations around the country, as well as earlier, Trump's speech, flyover of military aircraft of all sorts, as well as vintage military aircraft. Turn on CNN if you are not aware of their coverage, great fun. They also had some Saint-Saens, Debussy, Copland's ubiquitous Fanfare for the Rainman.

Fox? Patriotic, right-wing Fox??
Nothing. Nada. Regular programming.

Exactly the opposite of what I was anticipating for July 4th coverage.
Oh, and Don Lemon was complimenting how his co-host looked hot in a red dress. VERY sexist and inappropriate for CNN.
