      Not sure he is. He’s right in that amphib units are likely less important today. I doubt we fight much in the way of island hopping.

      The thing I thought most important was integrated, cooperative operations.

          I think he's wrong about vertical envelopment. I still think a decently armed force at a blocking point in the enemy's rear has worth.

          Not paratroopers. We learned in WW2 that's a waste of men. But with the air assets we have now, we can land a sizeable force with a decent amount of firepower to be a real headache. He mentioned things like hand-held anti-aircraft and anti-armor, but he didn't talk about how effective some of the old weapons have been when coupled with drones...Light mortars. Artillery. HIMARS and the like.

          Just like the Spanish Civil War, the Ukraine War is going to have a big effect on how wars are fought in the future.
