I need to buy a new laptop for work use. It will primarily (like 90%) be used to connect digital instruments to Finale, Auralia, and a few other programs regularly used by teachers at the University level. It will also be used for video presentations and zoom calls.

Quite frankly, the easy answer is a MacBook, except that there is a vital internal program that I will need to access that only runs on Windows. Even running a Windows Emulator or Virtual Machine won’t work… So any suggestions? @Axtremus ?

No specific recommendation - if you're ponying up yourself check-out slickdeals (website). Laptop prices are falling hard this quarter.

If someone else is paying for it. - Thinkpads have always been solid for work-use. On the pricey side.

I like Thinkpads for their ruggedness…

I've liked my HP Spectre x360 - I've had it for a few years now, I think I got it for about $1100 on offer. The one thing it lacks is an HDMI socket. It doubles (kind of) as a tablet, although it's a pretty clunky one. Lots of people say they don't like touch screens, but I find I use it quite a bit.

          I was only joking
