We considered the Stephanie Inn. It's a ways south of town, but that's not a problem. It was, however, quite pricey. Great views of the ocean and Haystack rock.

We also considered The Inn At Cannon Beach. Much more reasonable than the Stephanie Inn. But...it's not ON the beach. It's a block away, and though nice, I would prefer a better view.

The Ocean Lodge would have been our choice - good location, on the beach/ocean with great views. Again, a bit south of town.

For our two stays, we were at the Hallmark Inn. We were able to get a 1 bedroom suite, facing the ocean. Our view was right outside of haystack rock, and walking distance to the center of town. A five day stay, all taxes, fees, etc included, in July was about $2500. The only downside is that there's no restaurant on-site.

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.
