    Not always true, as this ship unleashed a salvo of 14 inch fire at a German sniper at Point du Hoc. 3000 yards, no gun elevation, direct fire.

    No more snipers.

    The ship is also famous for the captain flooding part of his ship, in order to create a list, so he could fire further inland, during the Allied invasion.

    And...The ship also fought at Iwo Jima and Okinawa. Also, she was present and firing her guns during Operation Torch.
