“Cry havoc and let slip the DOGE of war!”

Those who cheered as J-6 American prisoners were locked in solitary for 18 months without trial, now suddenly fight tooth and nail for foreign terrorists’ "due process". — Buck Sexton

Florida saves some money on their heating bill.

Yeah, but it's balanced out by the air conditioning.

In all fairness, Florida has a lower number of school age children, education is one of the largest expenses in state budgets.

It also has a far lower cost of living, which translates to cheaper real estate and lower salaries paid to state employees. It’s not really an effective analysis…

Upstate New York is affordable, is it not?

@Jolly said in More people, half the budget.:

Upstate New York is affordable, is it not?

Cost of living in Albany, NY is ~10% higher than the national average.

Cost of living in Jacksonville, FL is ~10% lower than the national average.

I’m pro-Florida, but this isn’t the comparison to make.

Also Florida is almost 25% seniors which tend to be heavy on federal expense and light on state.
