    The doc my wife worked for, has been one of those guys who has really maintained his faculties very well, even in His eighties. His surgery skills have diminished (although he still does some simple mission work in Southern Mexico), but the mind is still very good. He still helps teach residents from the Tulane and LSU programs. Maybe it helped he was a world-class athlete at one tine, and was a fitness nut all his life.

    I need to call him up and find what he is working on...I heard today he is on a research team of docs working on some COVID treatments. Wonder what they need an ophthalmologist for?...

          Retinal Vascular Disorders are pretty commonly associated with high blood pressure and diabetes, the two largest comorbidities impacted by COVID. As George has pointed out multiple times, COVID is a vascular disease. and it would be surprising if some people didn’t develop vision issues.
