Actually, what he's doing is grooming the other. It's a sign of dominance in cats. Luna does that to Stella because she's the boss.

Well, bobcat. I'm sure both of them are fine with this.

They don't all do that, though. Many cats don't even get along well enough for grooming.

We have three cats, two of which are sisters. They don't groom each other at all. Never once.

They've a very weird symbiotic relationship. They all hang out in the same room togetherโand if one's missing, they go and find the third to let them know where they areโbut never, ever in the same chair.
