If you like "Columbo," you might enjoy "Poker Face" on Paramount+.

The premise is that "Charlie" is a casino bar hostess who has the ability to detect when someone's lying. She's 100% accurate and if someone's trying to cover up a crime, she can tell.

In the first episode, this ability gets her into trouble with her casino's bosses and she has to flee Vegas.

Each episode is self-contained, and tells the story of one crime and how she comes to deduce it. She has a "Columbo" type of air to herself, with a lot of "Wait a minute, there's just one thing I don't understand" thrown in to her exposition at the end of the episode.

I've watched three so far, and it's engaging, light fare.

Just a heads up, the narrative of the story is kind of time-shifted. Sometimes, Charlie makes an appearance before the crime is committed, and sometime after.

    It's fun.

Narvik was a good little film about a relatively unknown WWII battle that is deemed Hitler’s first defeat. In Norwegian, but the English overdub was really well done.

Started watching it last night. Very well shot and engrossing. I watched with subtitles - perhaps I'll switched to the dubbing.

I think I would have preferred it in subtitles. I like to hear the language.
