    Personally, I think this is dumb. Better to spend the money and furnish Ukraine with more Leopard 2 tanks.

      Germany did not want to appear to be the only one sending tanks to Ukraine. So the USA also send some tanks to Ukraine to avoid that appearance.

        Buy them some. There are a lot of Leopard 2's all over Europe. And I suspect they're cheaper than M1's.

        Logistical and training nightmares ensue when multiple cooks are stirring the pot.

          Once again, I find myself agreeing with Jolly. The Ukrainians need weapon systems they can easily maintain and train to combat readiness on quickly. M1 Abrams do not fit that category. Leopard 2s do fall into that description. Spare parts are readily available and the tank itself was designed for a conscript army to operate and service.
