I finally had my shingles shot on Monday, after lots of nagging from my GP. I felt absolutely terrible for two days. Apparently the second shot is worse.

Now I wish I'd done my own research.

Of course, shingles would be a lot worse....

    I was only joking

If you don't like that shingles vaccine, you should invent your own.

      Education is extremely important.

I've got more important things to do, thank you.

I’ve had shingles twice. The first time when I was 26, and the second about 4 years ago. First bout was awful, second not too bad.

I got the 1st vaccination about 2 years ago. Achy, very achy, arm for about 3 days. No real systemic symptoms, but I’ve never had a local reaction to any vaccination like this one.

          Haven’t had the 2nd, but I’m hesitant.

They told me I had to have the second within 2-6 months of the first, or we'd need to start again.

I had my second shot this past fall. Both of them made me feel sick - shivers and a fever. Pretty much just for the night and day after i got the shot. Felt like I had the flu. Really glad I am done with them. Ended up taking ibuprofen and resting in the recliner in front of stupid movies on Netflix and Amazon Prime. I know getting shingles can be much worse.

Guess who gets to start over, buddy.

Had both shots. Not fun, but worth it. Shingles are nasty and can leave permanent damage, especially if near the eyes. Blindness is no fun either.
