    @brenda

    Perhaps they don’t commiserate with one of the Lutheran synods out there.

    Correct me if I am wrong but I think there are only two prevalent in North America.

    I'm rather surprised how many there are in North America, so there's plenty for your side of the border and mine.

    In the US, it says there are four major synods, and within each one are several variations. Again, we've got plenty to share with you, Renauda. Take as many as you want, we'll make more!

      I was only aware of the Evangelicals and the Missouri Synods around here. The latter are somewhat austere in their doctrine- a friend, a member of the church, likens it to old style Catholicism but without the pope.

      But no, I will not take you up on your offer. Although I care not to keep track of theses matters, from what I can see there is an abundance of their edifices everywhere.

        Mrs. George belongs to the Misery Synod. She likes the tradition, etc. And, as you say, it's like Catholics without the Pope.

        ELCA is far too liberal for her. Women pastors? OMG!!!

        She'd probably like Wisconsin Synod (D2 goes to one of those).

        The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

          How does one convert to satanism? Inquiring minds want to know.

            Dude, us Southern Baptists have the best food, hands down.

            Come for church, stay for the potluck. Get your soul and belly filled at the same place!

              Those two things are closely related.

                @Jolly

                Thank you but I had my soul and belly filled as a child and teen. Been a recovering Catholic ever since.

                Edit: Potluck cuisine in RC churches is every bit as good, if not better, as in Southern Baptist churches.

                  Who has an unfavorable view of Buddhism? Seems like indifference would be the worst they’d deserve.
