I think it’s always interesting to see what stories are interesting in their own right vs those that are only interesting insofar as they can be used to point out how bad the outgroup or a particular member of it is.
Some hover on the edge, depending on the poster, like the FTX/SBF saga.
In my case I hadn’t heard of these Atlanta riots before this thread. Sounds like the shot that killed the activist was fine, if tragic in its necessity.

Do you suppose you would have heard about the riots, and in a moral panic framing, if they were occurring for some motivation linked to the political right?
