Banned Film Trivia
-
This movie has been made three times. The first time it was set in WW1, the other two times it was set in WW2. The second movie is widely acknowledged as the best of the trio, receiving two AA nominations. The first movie was censored in the U.S. and went unseen by the public for 61 years. The third movie lost money at the box-office, but was the only one done in color. In the first movie, the female lead was American, in the second she was English, in the third French. All three movies end in London.
Oh, the first movie had a young lady in a supporting role (4 lines, as she recalled), who later became one of the biggest stars in Hollywood.
What movie(s) are we talking about? And who was the young actress in one of her very first speaking roles?
-
AFAIK, that movie has only been made twice. It's a good guess, but look at the clues... In each of the three movies, the nationality of the female lead is different - American, English and lastly, French...BTW, played by an American, English and French actress in her respective movie.
The original movie was banned in 1934 and not seen again for many decades.
