At least one restaurant chain (Portillo's) in Chicago will no longer accept cash at their drive through window. They say it's in the interest of improving customer service and efficiency.

    Right...

Why does Chicago keep this thing?

There might be something to it. Cash would be the more desireable to steal by employees, also much easier to utilize than credit cards.

So we as a society cannot use cash because it can be stolen? That's not a solution so much as a capitulation.

            She checked the right boxes:

            • woman
            • black
            • lesbian

            Historic!

She's trailing in the polls however. The primary is in February.

              True.

I wonder about the legality of it. After all "legal tender for all debts..." is literally on the bills and coins.

That said, I hardly pay cash for anything anymore. Hell, I hardly write checks anymore.

Meanwhile, there is political pushback against cashless businesses because not everybody has a credit card or a bank account.

Same here. But that's not the point. It's inconveniencing the honest population due to the behavior of the dishonest.

Oh, it’s not just inconveniencing… I have it on good authority that expecting people to have valid photo identification is racist and evidently there are hundreds of thousands of people that are unable to obtain photo ID. Since a valid photo ID is required to open bank accounts and obtain debit and credit cards, these hundreds of thousands must rely on cash for all commerce. By asking businesses to go cashless, you are infringing on these people’s ability to buy food, medicine, diapers, and more…

I suppose I should just send the homeless guy 10 bucks on apple cash so he can buy a sandwich now?

                      Cashless business is racist.

I'm sure she knows that. Racially poor people don't carry fancy "other forms of transactions".
Why doesn't someone teach her to speak English? Communication matters.
