I would love to watch video of that guy watching the second half… I would pay for that… The smugness and bravado slowly melting away… The smile that starts to develop a little twitch at the corner of the mouth… The eye tick that develops… And then the sheer agony of the final drive…

Yeah, i’m not ashamed to say I would watch that.

        • The largest reported pregame bet of the weekend at Caesars Sportsbook was $880,000 on the Baltimore Ravens +6.5 against the Cincinnati Bengals. It was placed early in the week, before Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson was officially ruled out. The line closed at Bengals -8.

"It was the first time this customer has had a bet that size," Craig Mucklow, vice president of trading for Caesars Sportsbook, said. "We figured they were betting on Lamar playing."

        The Bengals won 24-17..

I’ve said this before but I’m not cut out to gamble. I simply won’t risk enough to make the winnings all that interesting. At least on games where the risk and payout isn’t too lopsided (ie not the powerball).

If you don't take it, it can only good happen.

Yet, you have money in the market. 😊😊

@Jolly Risks are quite low on my time horizon.

What I don’t do is buy leveraged futures, etc. I don’t even speculate on single stocks.

I'm the same way. I hate risk. Even buying the new house 2 months before we sold our last one caused me unbelievable stress, as I was convinced the housing market was going to crash. It drives Mrs. Phibes nuts.

                I was only joking

I work on commission with performance based bonuses. Every day is a gamble. I honestly don’t know if I could adjust to a completely salaried job. I don’t think I could stomach knowing exactly how much money I was going to make each and every month this year.

Hanging on the precipice of financial ruin is a good way to take your mind off your own mortality.

                    Education is extremely important.

Thanks. I think I'm going to go and Swedish death-clean my room now.
