Aortic Aneurysm
-
That's the abdominal aorta. It should be about an inch in diameter, maybe an inch and a quarter.
Medicare wants us geezers to get an ultrasound of our abdominal aorta just to be safe.
My results:
MEASUREMENTS:
Proximal abdominal aorta height: 2.8 cm
Proximal abdominal aorta width: 2.7 cmMid abdominal aorta height: 2.1 cm
Mid abdominal aorta width: 2.2 cmDistal abdominal aorta height: 1.9 cm
Distal abdominal aorta width: 1.9 cm -

Ok, how would they fix that?
That would require an aorta-biiliac graft.
Clamp the aorta above the aneurysm (hopefully it's below the renal arteries and SMA), clamp each iliac artery, open up the AAA and sew in a bifurcated graft.

Easy peasy.
