Japanese government offers families 1m yen a child to leave Tokyo
Government boosts incentives to lure people to ‘unfashionable’ regional areas hit by ageing, shrinking populationsThat's on top of another ¥3m of another preexisting incentive to get families to move out of Tokyo.
No mention of "immigration" as another policy tool to address Japan's population problem. :man-shrugging:

A million yen is about $7600. Less than it would cost you to move, most likely. Add in 3M more and it's about $30,000. Big whoop.

Sure would help with the cost, though.

When I was in Tokyo last month, I went up to a tall tower to take a look around.
I suppose Tokyo is no different from other mega-cities, but it just doesn't end.
