What will the Speaker vote look like?

I'd love to see a deal between McCarthy and the Democrats to have 50 dems vote present in return for (1) no shutdown/debt ceiling brinkmanship and (2) a promise to always allow Ukraine funding a floor vote.

Trump weighs in for McCartney....Don't know if that helps...
I thought it might, but it didn’t. Makes Trump look impotent and increases the (still small) odds for a deal with Dems.

I’m starting to wonder if there exists a candidate that could get 218 Republican votes. That slim majority cuts both ways.

Or maybe just bring popcorn.

Does not sound very resolute.

Five rounds of voting and McCarthy is still not elected.

Not hugely relevant, but fun. Jeffries is in the team photo for the people who have received the most votes for speaker in all of history. Interesting to see Pelosi ahead of Sam Rayburn.
