I sure hope that the muscle relaxer drug I am taking is responsible for my lack of "strength" and "dexterity " while playing the guitar or piano.

Anyone have any experience with this?

I think I found an answer. Basically, Yes.

Just tried a few things on the piano. Pinky is so weak, it can barely make the key sound. Lots of rolling of the wrist just to get it to sound decent.

I tried a few slow things and even then, my fingers feel the same way they do when I have had a few too many drinks.

Entirely possible, but I would also consider there might be a component of cervical arthritis/disc disease affecting motor function.

About 30 years ago, I was on some heavy duty muscle relaxer for several weeks. It can affect all kinds of things including mood, strength, sexual functioning, etc. One of my more scary moments was I took some Flexeril and went into a hot bath. Within a few minutes, my heart was racing, and I could barely move. I struggled to get out of the tub and just lay on the floor with the racing heart. It took about a half an hour before I was able to function. Whitney Houston died in a tub following taking a muscle relaxant. I still wonder if she might had a similar experience.

The one thing I remember most was that I became kind of apathetic about everything. I knew what I was supposed to say and do - just didn't have emotions to back it up.

I am not going to take any more them. They were prescribed 2 x daily. My last one was at noon today.

Yes, they found Flexeril in her postmortem exam. Xanax and 11 other medications might have something to do with it. Though the level of drugs was "mild," when you combine them with cocaine, alcohol , you're playing a deadly game.

Also, she was found face-down in the tub.

The face down part I can understand. It was not easy for me to get out of the tub. I used extremely hot water - and I truly could not move - almost like paralysis. If I weren't as strong as I was, I could have collapsed face down. Certainly, the other meds wouldn't have helped her.
