“Cry havoc and let slip the DOGE of war!”

Those who cheered as J-6 American prisoners were locked in solitary for 18 months without trial, now suddenly fight tooth and nail for foreign terrorists’ "due process". — Buck Sexton

It makes sense that that group was supported by high profile celebs. The pro-criminal / anti-judicial-system crowd is a sad joke. It's a good example of people devoting their lives to facile virtue, without acknowledging the harm they cause. They pursue the singular anecdotes of success stories here and there, and are willing to accept the statistical evidence of the damage they do in the process of pursuing those successes. They're secure that those statistics don't amount to a single anecdote they'll ever get blamed for.

Consider Hae Min Lee's family, and how they must have felt about Adnan Syed, the man who was convicted of her murder by strangulation, and who is almost certainly guilty. The pop cultural virtue gluttons descended on that case after it was popularised by the Serial podcast. Strings were pulled, technicalities were found, and he's a free man now. I wonder if Sarah Koenig, the creator of that podcast, has ever spared a thought for Hae's family. She personally devastated them, again.

      Education is extremely important.

I’m curious about the history of such lawsuits.

What percentage of bail postings have familial help? I’d assume most. Are the family members civilly liable for every case of recidivism? Maybe so, but they lack the deep pockets of an organization so no one goes after them.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Why not sue the Criminal Justice System for releasing him on bail to begin with?

This seems to be a step too far, IMO.

The concept of bail is so flawed to begin with. If you have enough money, you can await trial at home. If not, you wait in jail.
