      It seems like some of that wouldn't add up.

      But I don't want to underestimate the knowledge possessed by Americans.

        In these polls, the more interesting aspect is which demographic is more divorced from reality. By that measure, I recall that conservatives without high school degrees were neck and neck in ignorance with elitely educated liberals, for the title of largest discrepancy between pre-conceived notions and reality.

        Education is extremely important.
