I see no reason to pillory Santos or for him to resign if we're not going to hold established pols to the same standard.
Personally I feel that Ted Kennedy’s career should have ended at Chappaquiddick and a subsequent prison term, and that bloody woman who isn’t an Indian should have resigned immediately it came to light.
However, until people stop making excuses for the people they vote for and only pillory the other team, we’re going to remain stuck with a bunch of lying scumbags.
If this guy had been caught doing this applying for a normal job, he’d be fired. What makes pols so special?

I just don’t think it’s fair to start now without having set a higher standard. Ever since Clinton we have come to expect it and then to accept it. If we’re going to draw the line it needs to be done loudly and clearly.
