And to dovetail what @Doctor-Phibes said in the "Suffrage" thread, I owned one of these.

I bought it in 1982 when D1 was born. The recorder/tuner was $800. The camera was another thousand.

That's a cool $5300 today.

But, at least I got to watch all those VHS tapes.
