          It was the first airplane I saw up close. I think I was 4, almost 5.

          I still remember being in awe. Might actually be one of my oldest memories...

            I remember reading Arthur Hailey's "Airplane" and his discussion of the introduction of the 747 and what it would mean for air travel.

                Loved sitting in the upper deck. That was my preferred seats. Felt like I was on my own (semi) private plane.
