Alas poor Phibes! I knew him, unwell’ (I know, supposed to be Horatio but I'll go with the misquote.)

I've got fucking Covid. Not from the pot-stickers, though. Mrs. Bloody Phibes picked it up flying back from Iowa.

    FREAKING IOWA! WHY?

Actually, strictly speaking I tested negative for Covid. However, Mrs. Phibes tested positive and I'm sick, so I'm pretty much ignoring the stupid test result. Particularly as it means I'm not allowed to go into work.

Yep, you've probably got it, but...Bunch of Flu A out there right now. Hope they tested for that, too.

Take care, and get well soon.

Thanks everyone- fairly mild symptoms, slight fever and a bad cough, nothing much to worry about

        I was only joking

Okay . . . Still, it is worrying. I want you to check in here often with updates. I mean it. I'm serious.

And follow Brenda's excellent advice, especially about the frequent room service from Mrs. P. Teach her to go off to freaking Iowa without a by-your-leave. Who the hell goes there, anyway???

          Seriously -- keep us informed.

Mid October two weeks to the day I received my bivalent booster, the teenager came home from school complaining of a sore throat. Next day he developed a dry cough, congestion and periodic fever chills. He tested positive, went to ground for three days and was then fine. On the day he was back to normal, my spouse experienced the chills and tested positive. Along with the fever she had fatigue and episodic brain fog for close to 10 days.

Towards the end of her bout, six days after testing, I finally developed tickle at the back of the throat and slight congestion that would disappear when I was standing. I tested positive after two days. That was the extent my symptoms. I expect my bivalent booster did its job.

Wishing you a mild bout and speedy recovery.

            Elbows up!

Annoyingly, I'd put off having the 5th shot. Well, that's what you get, I guess.

The really bad thing about remote working is there's no proper sick time any more.

5 years ago I'd be spending the week in bed and/or playing computer games and feeling vaguely guilty. Now I just see all these tasks mounting up, and I'm kind of obligated to deal with them or deal with a total disaster when I get back.
