@Jolly , I tried to find an article I read last week, local?, basically saying Covid (& shut down in-person worship) provided a way for some to exit their churches, their people, the preaching & rules & monotony so to explore other beliefs, faith, communities. It was implied leaving gave them a “breath of fresh air”. They stated they wouldn’t return. Did you see any of this where you live?

Oh, I live just about in the buckle of the Bible Belt, so you still see a lot of church attendance down here. But, it's not what it was twenty years ago and the small churches are slowly dying as their older members die off.

Millennials make up about 78 million and they should be making up a significant percentage of church attendees. But they don't. It's one of the more worrisome trends.

I think we can do a lot to make the church more welcoming to them. What I don't agree with, is theology by whim. There are reasons why Catholics believe what they do, why Baptists may believe something slightly different or why Methodists emphasize works and sanctification. The Christian churches still agree on the basics, so beware of things not Bible based.

At least for me. Too easy to get caught up in the differences and forget the mission of the Church.

Russia and Ukraine have been at war.
Check later if church affiliation would increase or decrease over there.
